Central Park East II

In our Spring program at Central Park East II, students are exploring composting with earthworms, learning what plants need to thrive, caring for the garden, and observing the tiny critters that help keep soil healthy.

Leadership Program: Permaculture Design Lab

In our Leadership program, students completed their final presentations on May 6, sharing their designs for Sky Farm with Alexa, the farm manager. Their projects applied design techniques for waste, water, companion planting, and other systems that support a thriving farm.

Our mission for over 15 years has been to prepare them. Now, it’s time to scale up and bring to life our most ambitious program.
We are developing a curriculum for high schools and youth-serving organizations that uses the permaculture framework to teach 21st-century skills.

Through hands-on projects and design activities, students build practical skills, creativity, and confidence. Our approach replaces climate anxiety with hope and possibilities.

Created by Monica Ibacache, Eco-Designers has already reached more than 6,500 students in New York City public schools and beyond. Now, it’s time to scale up! But we need your support to take this project to the next level.
